Strauss & Van der Meulen 1979, p. 39, RD 1600/3: ‘Claes van Medenblick was Rembrandt’s cousin, probably the son of his uncle Pieter.’

 

The marriage banns of Rembrandt’s brother Adriaen van Rijn (16 June 1617)

Adriaen Harmensz. van Rhijn, schoemaecker, jongman van Leyden, vergeselschapt met Harmen Gerrytsz van Rhijn, zijn vader, met Lijsbetgen Symons, jonge dochter, mede van Leyden, vergeselschapt met Pietertgen Symons, haer moeder.

Translation

Adriaen Harmensz. van Rhijn, shoemaker, a bachelor from Leiden, accompanied by Harmen Gerrytsz van Rhijn, his father, with Lijsbetgen Symons, an unmarried maiden from Leiden, accompanied by Pietertgen Symonsdr, her mother.

Comments

Strauss & Van der Meulen 1979, p. 49, RD 1617/2: ‘The couple was married on 2 July. Adriaen died in October 1652 (q.v.).’
